A Great Day Learning Laau Lapaau (Traditional Hawaiian Medicine) with Noeau

By all accounts, the Laau Lapaau class on Saturday, September 25th with Pamela Noeau Day was fabulous! About 20 people came to Star Seed Ranch to learn the basics of traditional Hawaiian medicine. The class took a walk with Noeau and she pointed out common plants that have medicinal uses. The class was hands on, everyone got to make a laau preparation. I was the lucky recipient of a jar of medicine from my friend Susan Cox! Special thanks to Pamela Noeau Day and to Star Seed Ranch for making the magic happen.

If you missed the class, Craig has put together a great publication called a Start Up Guide for an Organic Self-Reliance Garden. You can also contact Craig and get put on the list to be contacted next time he holds a class.

The class and the North Kohala Eat Locally Grown Campaign made the cover of West Hawaii Today and the Hawaii Tribune Herald.
